Competition Driving Vol 1-3 (DVD set)

The training of the driving horse and preparation for participation in a competition occupy a central position in this film series "Competition Driving".

Part 1 represents a kind of visual guideline to the subjects: competition equipment, registration of horse, preliminary bagde and driving license as well as the present entry system for competitive equestrian sport. Well-known driving experts give us the benefit of their knowledge. They explain exactly how a training session should be structured and describe the training scale of the horse in detail rhythm, suppleness, contact, impulsion, straightening up of the horse's spine, collection with the great aim of then achieving submissiveness. Very instructional filming, also from the driver's box, helps to clarify specialist equestrian terminology. The film trains the eye for the evaluation of positive and negative training results.

Part 2

The focus of this second video is the schooling of the driving horse for the requirements of combined driving's lower levels. The primary goal is the correct execution of the individual dressage movements as well as proper driving in the dressage arena. Marathon training and especially negotiating marathon obstacles as well as focused training for the cones course is covered with similar intensity.

Part 3

This third film in the series "Competition Driving" helps to perfect the training of driving horses with a view to competing at intermediate and advanced levels.

Whether with horses in single harness, pairs or four-in-hands, training for the three disciplines required in event driving should be as extensive as possible. Further dressage training is emphasized as essential foundation for progress in the higher levels. The film shows ways of training as well as "tools" for this purpose which are not part of standard driving training but nevertheless can prove very useful in working towards a perfectly trained, competitive driving horse.
