Further Title Description: When “Bloodstock Breeding" was first published in 1957, it was hailed as a standard reference by an authority on the subject. This completely revised and up-dated edition is an acknowledgement that it should remain so, since it takes account of all the significant changes brought about in the last twenty-five years. The book is presented in two parts: the theory as it affects all bloodstock breeders, and the practice as it has been borne out in the Derby. Sir Charles Leicester's intention was to provide information and ideas which would be of importance and practical usefulness not only to thoroughbred breeders, owners and trainers, and students of heredity but to anyone with a serious interest in the racehorse. This revised edition adheres to his intention.
